HANOI, VIETNAM – We are not getting paid for this plug and that is just fine. This hotel in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Town was a really great place to stay – great breakfast, great helpful staff, great location, and all around good safe choice. We stayed here for 9 days so we got a good feel for everything about the place.
Old Town is noisy, filled with busy market stalls tucked into every nook and cranny. But, hey, Hanoi is just plain noisy! There are a lot of people here – around 7 ½ million – and the economy is booming, therefore construction noise also is everywhere.
We had a double private room with bath, and a bay window space overlooking the street below, so it was a little bigger than the rooms with a balcony at that end. So we had extra space and, fortunately, a little less noise than there would have been sitting out on a balcony.
They have 28 rooms in various sizes, so you can choose the accommodation you need. They also arranged for us to get picked up at the airport when we arrived. This is a must for us because we are always so jet-lagged when we get into a new place; it is just difficult to handle everything until we rest.
Add the buffet breakfast for just a few dollars a day
You can add on the buffet breakfast, which is the best, with the choice of ordering some hot fresh-cooked dish like an omelet or several Asian choices, or you can just eat off the buffet with fresh fruit, toast, cereal, yogurt, salad, pancakes and breakfast meats.
It’s all the same price, just a few dollars a day. And there’s plenty of tea, coffee and juice. It is so helpful to get up and not have to go looking for breakfast outside. I loved it!
The hotel staff are so nice. And they really look after you. I was getting ready to go out in the hot weather one day, and they were very concerned that I was not taking water, so they made me take some along!
They also offer very reasonable prices for tours and are there to help you have a great experience during your stay in Vietnam. The staff speak very good English, and at least some other languages since Hanoi is an international destination.
We also met some other really great travelers and had some great conversations while we stayed there.
We’re more than happy to recommend the Hanoi Old Town Hotel as an excellent place to stay during your visit to Vietnam.
